Bats can find the smallest holes in your home's exterior and gain access to your attic. Bats only need an opening 1/2 inch in size to gain entrance. Once in your attic, a bat colony will roost on the walls and roof frames. They can leave piles of droppings (guano) below their roosts. Bat droppings can carry a fungus that is harmful if breathed in. If you have bats, it is a safe practice to eliminate them from your home before they cover your attic insulation with guano.
